A collaboration with Artesania Cataluniya, Elements is a limited rocks from Montserrat, Spain. With unique and carefully created Bonsai grown on this rock, you can have your own little Montserrat.

We preserve nature to collect memories. A bond that you create with a stone that you found has a special place in your heart, but this little object may end up forgotten with time. I wanted to create something that would let you take care of it and help grow with it. As the name suggests, ‘Elements’ is made up of all the elements of nature. The shape of the rocks, texture of the tree and scent of the wood, all embeds itself into the memories and brings people’s senses to life. This stone was specially hand- picked from Montserrat. The top part of the stone gives the same feeling of a serrated structure as Montserrat To Preserve the natural beauty of the stone, minimal human interventions were made. This Bonsai was chosen to complement the shape of the stone. Both bonsai and the tree have the same directional movement making it appealing to the eyes. As every bonsai is unique, no single product would look the same. Every wooden base is hand crafted to make it unique. It sits with the rock perfectly giving it stability. The shape of the wooden base follows the shape of the stone as seen in the bonsai culture- Suiseki which is the Japanese art of stone appreciation, which values aspects like stability, longevity and immortality.

To make a souvenir from Catalunya – Montserrat, I chose to collaborate with Mr. Gabriel Aguade, a local bonsai artist of Catalunya. By combining the two creative fields I wanted to create a soulful, unique and unrepeatable souvenir, where the values of perseverance, innovation and tradition come together.
