BLOOM
Bloom is a modular planter. It is made of a main body consisting wood and bamboo (coloured white). The second element of bloom is the net. The net is closed on the bottom and stitched to an elastic band on the top that sits up top by staying attached in the grooves. Bloom eliminates the risk of damaging the roots of the plants caused during re-plantation while making it easier for rearranging the layout of your home garden due to its tessellating design.
In gardening, transplanting or replanting is the technique of moving a plant from one location to another. Transplanting at home is comparatively an easier process. It is mostly done when there is a need to change the arrangement; if the plant dies; if the pot breaks. During this process, most plants experience a certain amount of shock from transplanting, when roots are disturbed and unable to absorb enough water resulting in death. Adding to this, the process of transplantation is also very tiring and involves a lot of human labor. To tackle these problems, I decided to create a modular planting system.
Using the law of tessellation; of a flat surface is the tiling of a plane using one or more geometric shapes, called tiles, with no overlaps and no gaps, I created the outer shell in a right angle triangle
Current Scenario:
• Flip the pot upside down.
• Pull the plant out with the soil.
• Remove the plant from the pot by grabbing the base of the plant.
• Remove the plant from the pot by grabbing the base of the plant.
• Place the plant in the hole.
• Cover the hole with soil using a trowel.
New Scenario with Bloom:
• Select a plant for replanting.
• Remove the plant by its root ball
• Fill the net of bloom with soil.
• Put the plant in it and place it in a desired place
• For replanting again, remove the elastic from the corners.
• Pull out the net and replant it with the net.
