Adityam is a sun-inspired ritual object created to help improve concentration and support a centered state of mind in today’s fast-paced world. With constant digital stimulation and demanding schedules, moments of quiet focus are becoming increasingly rare. Adityam offers a simple, physical way to pause, reconnect, and build a consistent mindfulness habit at home.

The form brings together symbolic elements in a grounded and functional way. The central structure represents Shiva as the lingam, symbolizing stability and focus, while the surrounding lotus form represents Shakti, the source of energy and growth. Together, they create a balanced space that encourages a calm mental state. A Gaumukh-style spout allows water to flow gently from the top, guiding the user into a slower rhythm while creating a natural point of concentration.

The base is etched with a Sun Yantra, reinforcing the idea of direction and clarity. The object is designed to be placed in the East, aligning with the sunrise and helping the user begin the day with intention. Through repeated use, Adityam becomes a small daily anchor that supports focus, emotional balance, and presence.

The project developed through iterative model making, light studies, and material tests to understand how the object interacts with both the environment and the user. Crafted in ceramic and wood, Adityam combines cultural references with contemporary design to create an accessible, meaningful tool for modern living.
